Which Medicare plan is right for you?
Not sure about the difference between Advantage and Medigap? That is exactly what our licensed advisors are here for. Here is a quick overview.
Medicare Advantage (Part C)
An all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare. Bundles hospital, medical, and often prescription drug coverage. Many plans include dental, vision, and hearing benefits.
Best for: Those who want extra benefits at a predictable cost
Medigap (Medicare Supplement)
Fills the gaps left by Original Medicare, like copays and deductibles. Works alongside Parts A and B. Gives you predictable out-of-pocket costs.
Best for: Those who travel often or prefer any-doctor freedom
Medicare Part D (Prescriptions)
Standalone drug coverage that pairs with Original Medicare or Medigap. Plan formularies vary widely, so comparing costs on your specific medications matters a lot.
Best for: Anyone who takes regular prescription medications

Medicare FAQ
Medicare has a lot of moving parts. Here are the questions we hear most from dads navigating it for the first time.
When can I enroll in Medicare?
Your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) starts 3 months before your 65th birthday and ends 3 months after. If you miss it, you can enroll during the General Enrollment Period (January 1 to March 31) or during a Special Enrollment Period if you had employer coverage. The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs October 15 to December 7 each year and lets you switch or add plans.
What is the difference between Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare?
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) is government-run and covers hospital and medical services. Medicare Advantage (Part C) is offered by private insurers approved by Medicare. It bundles Parts A and B, usually includes Part D, and often adds extra benefits like dental, vision, and gym memberships. Costs and network restrictions vary by plan.
Do I need a Medigap plan if I have Medicare Advantage?
No. Medigap (Medicare Supplement) is designed to work alongside Original Medicare, not Medicare Advantage. You cannot have both at the same time. If you choose Original Medicare and want to limit out-of-pocket costs, Medigap is worth comparing.
What does Medicare Part D cover?
Part D covers prescription drugs. Each plan has a list of covered medications called a formulary. Costs differ significantly between plans based on the drugs you take, so comparing Part D plans with your specific medication list is one of the smartest moves you can make.
How much does a Medicare agent cost me?
Nothing. Licensed Medicare agents are compensated directly by the insurance carriers. Their advice and enrollment help are free to you. Our matching service is also completely free.
What is the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)?
AEP runs October 15 to December 7 every year. During this window you can switch Medicare Advantage plans, switch from Medicare Advantage back to Original Medicare, join or switch a Part D plan, or add a Part D plan if you did not have one. Changes take effect January 1 of the following year.
